Welcome Cynthia Bondi as Our Managing Director

We’re thrilled to share that Cynthia Bondi has joined us at Greenstand, taking on the role of our very first Managing Director. Cynthia joins Greenstand’s Executive Leadership team and will be based in her hometown of Nairobi, Kenya.

“Cynthia arrived at Greenstand this year as a volunteer contributor seeking to gain experience in project management. Her talents, knowledge, and passion for protecting our planet while supporting the needs of smallholder farm families quickly became evident to everyone at Greenstand,” said David 'Ezra' Jay. “Inviting Cynthia to join our leadership team and help guide our operations going forward is a big piece in the strategic puzzle Greenstand is putting in place.”

Cynthia is an accomplished Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, renowned for her expertise in international law and impact-driven legal practices. With a distinguished education, she holds an LLM in International Law from University College London and a BA LLB (Hons) in Law from the University of Lancaster.

A zealous advocate for environmental causes, Cynthia's dedication to the protection of our planet led her to join the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Bonn, Germany, as a Legal Research Assistant. During her tenure at UNEP, she actively contributed to projects addressing critical environmental issues and the protection of endangered species, playing a vital role in the development of the Rule of Procedure for GRASP, a significant milestone in global wildlife conservation efforts.

Cynthia's unwavering passion for the environment is complemented by her involvement in international legal projects with organizations such as the International Criminal Court and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. Her contributions in these contexts have involved critical research, drafting legal background papers, and analyzing human rights treaty bodies, all with a focus on environmental protection and sustainability.

As the Managing Director at Greenstand, Cynthia provides operational guidance and project leadership while building relationships and collaborative partnerships across the climate mitigation and MRV (monitoring, reporting, and verification) space. Cynthia's strategic acumen allows her to assess new business opportunities and lead the experimentation and implementation processes. Her contributions are instrumental in driving Greenstand's mission of fostering environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
