Contributor Spotlight: October 2020

Hi everyone! Welcome to the second installment of Contributor Spotlights! Each month we will be highlighting a contributor from our global community! For today’s post, we chose to brag about our Development Manager, Tabitha Kelly.

Tabitha wears multiple hats at Greenstand. As Development Manager, she is our grant writing superstar and the backbone of the operations and financial development team. She helps support the board and senior leadership in any way possible and her current big project is working to set the organization up to undertake donor fundraising. Greenstand has grown rapidly as an organization since Tabitha joined. In fact, this past summer she earned us $80,000 in grant funds, with two exciting awards being announced on the same day!

Tabitha grew up in South Carolina and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management from Clemson University. After college, she moved out west, eventually settling in southern Utah. On top of working for Greenstand, Tabitha works two other jobs and is finishing up her Master’s in Nonprofit Management through Northeastern University. She found Greenstand on VolunteerMatch in January 2020 as part of a class project which required her to write a grant. After winning mentorship from the grant submitted, Tabitha decided to stick around and see what else she could bring to the organization. She loves that Greenstand is an open-source, volunteer run project that allows contributors to accelerate the mission and create value individually and as part of a team. An avid backpacker, reader, gardener, and yogi, Tabitha finds time to regularly enjoy the stunning Utah wilderness that she resides in with her two dogs, cat, and chickens.

Tabi, we thank you for your endless hard work and dedication.

Thank you for helping us celebrate our amazing contributors. We’ll see you next month for our November installment of Contributor Spotlight!
