Zaven currently serves as the of VP of Engineering, tasked with coordinating the technical teams, guiding the development path of the complete platform, improving stability in our deployments and, of course, coding! He has a Bachelors in computer science and a Masters in environmental science - so a foot in both worlds, plus about 20 years of experience in software engineering and system architecture. Zaven has specialized in full mobile stack GIS systems, building GIS-aware data collection tools and integrating web, database, and mobile tools. At Yale, Zaven worked on water quality research and conservation. When he isn't helping Greenstand grow a global forest, he also works on deployio.co and crownthecrownd.com which, like Greenstand, occupy the space between his background in software engineering and his desire to definitively solve environmental problems.
